Originally from Germany, Margitta Zachert arrived in New York with an education from the esteemed Meissen School of Porcelain Painting. She was awarded a scholarship from the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) and went on to earn her MFA in Painting from Pratt Institute.
With an interest in the world of fashion and its ever evolving possibilities, Margitta found through textiles a perfect way to merge her technical education and the creativity of her fine arts studio. Her varied skills allow her to create multiple bodies of work that touch on the diverse trends in contemporary fashion. This site showcases some of her digital prints for the women's apparel industry.
